Interesting question... is the time shown the time that it was sent from sender phone, the time the cell base station took the incoming message from sender or the time the cell base sent it out to the recipent phone, or the time on the recipent phone itself ??
What happens if you send SMS international or acros time zones ? sorry no idea... but would like to know !

the time in the screen-shot is sms server time and it belongs to the operator.

I have the same problem & till now noone knows how to solve or what's going on. All messages sent to me from ppl of my network or internationally are 1h later than the time they have been sent in. Messages sent to me from the other network are on time. P.S.: No delays in both cases but it simply shows it either on time or 1h later.

exactly i am receiving many messages,
and i also receive message from 303 services for missed calls, when my mobile is out of network area, every time i receive this message the time showin is perfect.
what is surprising here is it is just giving some absurd time.
for eg. yesterday (on dt. 2/3/07) i received a message of dt. 3/3/07, how is it possible to see some time like this before the date arrives. its very absurd & surprising, and i have no hint how it is happening.
Also i checked my Time & Date in my mobile which is synchronised with my lap top, also i have set the time & date properly to "Mumbai - India Time".
I infact did a master reset on my phone once, but still the same problem persist.
I have received message of future dates from a couple of my friends.

I am not sure about that, but i guess its only happening with me & i have never seen such timings in any of my friends & colleagues mobile, no idea over the reason why and infact i received a couple of message from different operators with such absurd time in my SMS.
i also dont have any clue.
