my dad got one WIRELESS MAXg PCI ADAPTER by USRobotics...
i dont really know much abt it!
is this the WLAN?
and whts the diff. bet WLAN and Wifi?
i installed it on my pc but does not spot any network!
that means i need dont have a hotspot nearby right?and i need a router?
can any one xplain me how to set up a router and how ill be charged for using it...and how much does a router and the WIRELESS MAXg PCI ADAPTER by USRobotics cost??

there is no difference between wifi and wlan..
they are the same thing..
but yes you need a wirless router within 100m of your pc..
