Ppl i am v v confused....i had made up my mind abt buying a P990 but iv read such negative feedback about the phone tht im double minded now...I am especially worried about the software issues and the fact tht it reboots itself and is sluggish n all...i thot the new firmware would solve those issues? has it? and please can someone help me by answering the following questions regardin p990

Camera Quality compared to K750/W900 (better, same or worse)?
Video capture quality compared to W900 (better, same or worse)?
Does it still reboots by itself even after the newest firmware?
Have the RAM issues been solved after the newest firmware release?
Are UIQ 3 applications (free) easily available for download?
Is P990 really the best smartphone out there?
MP3 quality and sound compared to K750/W900 (better, same or worse)?
is the phone compatible wid MBW-100 bluetooth watch?

Overall should i really go for the phone? I really seem 2 like it but such negative criticism abt the phone has forced me to think again...pls dun advice me to consider other co. phs like Nokia, Imate or Imac coz iv only used SE alwayz n im so used to SE tht i dun think i can ever buy a phone made by another company...ever...so plz guyz help me out temme whether i shud juz stick to my W900 or go for P990...lemme tell u tht when i bought W900 the entertainment functions were more imp for me n W900 did an incredible job at those but now i want both a BUSINESS PHONE and an ENTERTAINMENT PHONE...so is P990 really an All in One phone or juz a jack of all trades?

Help needed urgently
thnx

Get a p990, its easy to be put off by the load of negative comments on this and other forums, but i think some people will complain no matter what they get. My experience after 3 months of upgrading from my W800i to P990:

camera seems about the same, but my flash doesn't work on the p990, which is annoying, perhaps this will be addressed in firmware, but since mine is O2 branded i haven't updated firmware since new.
The mp3 player also seems to be as good as the w800, and i use this function most, with the walkman headphones (not supplied with p990).
In three months my phone has rebooted twice... hardly a big issue.
I got the p990 because it has wifi, office software, is much easier for emailing and internet, due to screen size and stylus operation.
I too am a sony fan, and shared your concerns before purchasing my p990. Having owned it for 3 months i say its a great phone, have had no problems with it, so in my opinion go buy one if it has features you want/need.

cheers Oz

i wonder why p990 is called a smartphone.it's not as smart as i thought it is..this is the worst of all the p-series that i ever had..i cant even make media player and messaging run at the same time.. now where is what they call multi tasking?browsing thru wifi will just allow me to open 4 full html pages and then it closes itself automatically.so now i have my p910i back as my main phone and my p990 is just for show off..hehehehe..

Short and sweet i have a P990i with and i have encountered no problems at all in the last 5 months! (apart from vodafone branding which i am now free from!)

I have never regretted buying this phone!

adolfo, im afraid most of us run messaging app and media player without problems,...saying the p910 is a better phone is really a joke

Not many phones out there that can do what the P990i is doing. If now there is any. And please, dont compare it to the P910. Its not even close

About 2 weeks ago I was contemplatng in gettin' a NEW fone . . . was choosing between a P990 or an N93 Up till now I haven't made-up my MIND yet as to what to get . . . Yeah, I've been hearing LOTS of negative remarks about the P990, here and THERE . . . and so with the N93. . . that's why. It's just that the PRICES of these two have really GONE down compared during their INITIAL releases . . . but at the end of the DAY (it gets DARK . . .) I guess I will settle for the P990 (anyway), will have to THINK harder though.

@oz - What do you mean by the FLASH not working on your P990 mate Does it have one? Can I use my mxe-60 Xenon Flash (optional accessory) with the P990? Thanks
