To avoid distractions, high school across South Africa have been installing safes, to store and lock away, students phones and ipods during class hours.

My highschool used to have a great policy on mobile phones: Students are allowed mobile phones in their possesion and are allowed to recieve emergency calls without distraction. This rule was brilliant hardly anyone used mobiles in school.

Just to back PeterKay up i left school in 1996 and to my knowledge only one other pupil had a mobile and it wasn't even connected to a network!
