> vodafone prepay is there a catch somewhere?
Bookmark topic
i am thinking of buying a SE phone on the vodafone network, but it says the tarriff is prepay, not pay as you go which is what i want. Does anyone know whether it has a catch like on the network '3' some tarriffs require you to put on at least £15 onto your sim card a month and if you don't spend it all they take the remainder airtime.
I need to know whether the vodafone prepay tarriff has a similar catch, i have read all the small print on terms and conditions, but doesn't say much about it, but i'm not convinced it doesn't have any catches at all.
Is anyone on evodafone prepay or knows a bit about it, or maybe know a bit more than myself, please tell me, any extra information will be a great help.

im using voda prepay, there are a few different types of plans u can go on, I am using the 365 day value bundle thing, once u recharge your credit is valid for a year, so u dont need to keep recharging evry month like 3, also u get voda to voda minutes evry time u recharge, thats like u can talk 2 ppl on vodafone for a given number of minutes for free (only have to pay 20c connection fee). I suggest u pop into a voda store and speak to them about their prepaid plans.

cheers mobilemodman,
so you mean you can top up whenever you like but if you don't use the money within a 365 day period they take it.
If that is the case then it will be alrite, i use my phone more regularly than that.
Except i live in england so the charges may be different.
The only problem is that the website i would like to buy the phone from: (http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/3297057/Sony_Ericsson_W850i_Vodafone_Pre_Pay_Mobile_Phone_White/Product.html)
only says Prepay. Not 365 day plan, or pay as you talk.
I will take your advice and look into it.
Thanks, Rob

pay as u go on voda uk is totally different to aus one!
there r a number of plans...
The main thing to remember is:
U HAVE TO MAKE AN OUTGOING CALL AT LEAST EVERY 60 DAYS OR U WILL LOSE UR MONEY! AFTER 30 DAYS U WILL B REQUIRED TO TOP UP IF U HAVENT MADE AN OUTGOING CHARGEABLE CALL!
go for the anynet plan as it has ok all round prices but take the weekend option.... basically if u spend £2.50 between the monday an friday u get free txts all weekend!!! IF u spend £5 in the week u get the free txts an also FREE CALLS to any network durin the weekend!!!
Hope this helps.

On Voda NZ Supa-prepay, you need to top up NZ$20 (about GBP7.00) every 3 months to keep your remaining credit. After 12 months no top-up your number is disconnected.

voda_man,
so your saying if i HAVE made an outgoing call then i don't need to top up within 30 days, but if i haven't made a call within 30 days then i need to top up.
What are the conditions if i don't top up? they take my money?
aside from that i need to make an outgoing call every 60 days at least?

u would need to make a call within 30days of the last call u made to keep your top up active... as long as this is adhered to then u wont lose a penny of the money!!!
If u leave it for 60days without a chargeable call they will disconnect the number and u lose the money...
