im not sure whether this can be done or not. what i've seen is to remove the operator logo. but if you manage to customize the layout.xml in order to put your name over the op logo, you'd success with your query.

Why not just remove the operator logo using FAR, then put your name on the image you're gonna use as your wallpaper...

you could do this on my old nokia 6280 phone. its like posting a small note in place of in my case 'orange'. also had tiny pictures to add to.
