Hi all i opened up my 2 x W850s before but now the earphone on both phones wont work!! Why is this? And what can i do?

What kind of ear speaker does it have? If it's the version with prongs, try carefully bending them up.
Are all the screws tightened properly? I know it's a simple thing, but it could mean your speakers aren't making proper contact with the mainboard.

The other side of this ribbon connector, I presume it connects to the phone's mainboard using a 'press-in' connector like the K750i's LCD? If so, is this plugged in fully, no dust etc. underneath?

The only thing I can think of that's causing the problem is something to do with that ribbon cable, I wonder if it's been damaged in some way. I've replaced a few D500 ribbon connectors lately, and looking at the faulty ribbons I can't see any damage on them. It can be the slightest mark or imperfection that can stop these things from working, they're very sensitive things!
The fact that both have stopped working makes me think that it's something that's happened when you opened the phones. Sorry I can't be more helpful, not owned a W850i let alone taken one apart so far!
