HI, I'm new to the forum, and please forgive meif discussed elsewhere I have searched for an answer.

I have an o2 branded z710i and was wondering what the little button under the 'C' button was for as it only opened o2 Active, the same as the web button on the opposite side of the phone. Reading the manual it goes on about something called an 'Activity Menu' and an 'Events Menu' in the general tab. I'm missing this entirely, no events menu no activity menu, just a shortcuts menu for the round joystick button.

I have tried the software update off the SE website and made no difference, can't say i'm all that bothered if its just an o2 branding problem but would just like to know if it is or if its broken?

hi mate. this looks like you have your phone O2 branded. it means that your phone is customized O2way. you need to debrand your phone to have just as it really is.

Thanks for the reply, I thought it might be due to branding. I've looked at wotanserver and I think i'm right in saying i need to upgrade the CID from 49 to 51? and flash it with a generic europe thingy bob?

im not sure about the CID upgrade, but you do need a generic firmware.

Thanks, I had a look through that, connected the phone and the wotan client told me something along the lines of 'warning old CID49 phone, upgrade to CID51' or thereabouts. Even though I have the latest firmware off the SE site, i'm assuming this needs doing? Guide says for 2 credits its a one time thing, and i'm guessing generic flash happens at the same time?

Anyway, the main question has been answered, that o2 have taken out a feature that I reckon looks pretty handy, and I want it! So i'll spend some time working out this flashing business.

I upgraded to CID52 and debranded my Z710i and now the events button serves only as the internet button. The activity option in the settings also is gone.

In my branded firmware it all worked OK. Any ideas?
