> P990 class action LAWSUIT
Bookmark topic
Greetings.
My name is Louie and i am long time sufferer of the dreaded SE p990.
After reading MANY forums and experiencing the same problems as all of you, and even MORE problems with latest firmware, i have decided that a class action law suit is called for.
I have finally sent my p990 into SE for warranty service, as they said that "something" may be having a hardware conflict. We will see.
What i do find a problem with forums such is this is that everyone loves to vent their problems with each other, but how many of you actually call SE or send there phone in for support ?
I feel that SE can not care any less if no one contacts them.
This i feel is a mistake on our part. Complaining to each other will not fix these FW issues.
Now, it is illegal for a manufacturer to create software that will actually harm your product, such as a FW update that causes MORE problems then what the phone already has. And we all know that each FW created not only does NOT fix prior problems, but actually creates more problems.
If you purchase a crappy phone on the other hand, that doesn't work, then its your choice to return it. But as mentioned, if you use the manufacturer's recommended software and it harms your product, then there is a pending lawsuit.
The p990 is not a teenagers phone, 99% of us purchased this phone for its potential capabilities, with a few exceptions, like myself, that are just tech junkies and need every new item or the best phone out there money can buy. Thus, these phones are for business people, and technically your business is suffering from a product you purchased and come with no support from it manufacturer to fix these bugs.
I therefore propose a class action lawsuit against Sony Ericsson's for providing recommended software that actually renders our phones useless for all intensive purposes.
I only belong to this one forum, and i only subscribed to post this thread, however , i am sure many of you readers belong to other forums or have connections with other p990 users elsewhere. please copy or re post this posting appropriately.
since i am new to forums such as this, i call on a more experienced user to properly gather information on other p990 users or if any lawyers out there want to take this upon them self to put this together. Doing this on my own having never filled a lawsuit could take time. So if there is any other experienced persons please speak up.
Its about time we put an end to this p990 nightmare and demand satisfaction from SE.

this again??? well, maybe you have better luck than the last guy, that actualy gave up after flashing the phone properly
and
And we all know that each FW created not only does NOT fix prior problems, but actually creates more problems.
WHAT???
See, i do not just talk about problems here, iīve been contacting SE permanently in all the ways i can, email, SE devs forum, etc, about the problems i had with the phone, and the truth is that the firmware releases are (slowly) improving it, and now its a stable phone, although there are still issues to improve, that weīve been discussing in the other threads

I second that. This is NOT up to date. I think that there are a lot of users that do get a faulty update and thats why the phone is acting as it is. Follow the right way and it should be ok

No, i am experienced computer technician and been flashing phones, motherboards, optical drives for years.
A faulty flash of firmware would render an electronic device useless and unable to start as some people experienced.
Keep in mind also that a customer should not have to correct problems that should not be there in the first place.
What if one does not have a computer? Or flashing firmware is beyond the understanding of someone ?
In either case if someone HAS to update firmware on a product they paid a LOT of money for, the process should not fail or be faulty.
If the flashing or the ability for someone to screw up the flash process is the culprit, then once again its the software that we use to flash the phone is malfunctioning.
try to post that remedy in the firmware section for the p990, and those who flashed there phone properly numerous times will eat you alive.
Sure there are morons that unplug their phone or lose Internet connection during the update process. But i highly doubt that is the issue here.
And someone should not have to send there product into service for an update for something that should have been corrected the FIRST time around, and not still be seeing problems on the THIRD firmware update a year later.
You feel that each update is getting better?
HELLO.. where is the mentality in that ? ONE and FIRST update should fix and address every issue to DATE, and not leave us to hope for the day the "next update will correct this issue" or that it creates MORE issues. My last update installed fine, MOST of the bugs were fixed, but the NEW bug was the volume did not perform properly. When it said 100%, it was only 50% sound wise, and you could hear nothing on the other end. BUT to be sure, i redid the process 3 times to make sure when someone says "you dont know how to update" i can say yes i am sure i did it correctly,
Feel free not to partake in the discussion or lawsuit if your p990 is working properly. Or if your satisfied waiting and hoping that the "next" FW will fix your phone from crashing when you receive a call.
Ironically, when i was speaking to SE on my p990.. it crashed.
I think before someone can shout out that it is user error, or remark "you must be doing something wrong" you should do some research first

How you dare criticise Se and the best cellphone ever made P990i. THIS TREAD SHOULD BE CLOSED IMMEDIATELY and the complainant hanged by his balls.

Ironically, when i was speaking to SE on my p990.. it crashed.
it might be personal you know

treat it nice, and it wonīt crash..
give me a break...do you think that if it was crashing like that (with latest fw) to most of us this forum wouldnīt be on fire right now??? i am sorry for your personal experience, but in this forum you can find enough info about what to do about it (format internal drive, reflash, avoid restoring backup of settings), considering a change under warranty and the return/sale of the device the last resorts, if the problems arenīt corrected
wait, you have a chance, Mario seems to be on you side to assist (surprise), he might do one of his stand up numbers in front of the juri, and the lawsuit may be a success
i dontīdispute the right of you protest, but saying the successive firmwares didnīt correct problems and created bigger ones is utter BS, and if you go with that argument to a lawsuit you will be a complete joke
