Sony today announced a new memory card format that is capable of holding up to 32 GB of data. The Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo is a new version of the Pro Duo-sized memory card. It is capable of read write speeds up to 60 MB / sec and can be made in sizes as large as 32 GB. Unlike the SDHC standard, the PRO-HG cards don't require any new hardware or software on devices - they are completely compatible with any Pro Duo card slot, including those on recent Sony Ericsson models such as the W810. Because Sony Ericsson has switched to an even smaller memory card, the Memory Stick Micro M2 on its latest models, users of phones such as the new CyberShot models will not be able to take advantage of these new cards.
Too bad 1 card will likely cost more than a crate full of W950s
