Hello,
I was thinking about buying a t68i from Amazon (t-mobile) and was wondering if you can use the phone as a modem without buying their per megabyte plans? Does it work if you just slow the connection down?

Yes, the megabyte plan is only for GPRS. You can still use WAP through GSM. It works like a dial-up, it uses your minutes instead of data.
