Hi all,
I have just gotten one of these on upgrade from Vodafone, and im looking to flash it with the latest non-vodafone branded firmware.
I realise i will be needing wotan server for this, but the problem is that i cant seem to find out what firmware version it has to start with.
The pages ive seen so far seem to suggest its some sort of left, right * combination that brings up a menu, but it doesnt work for me, and also that there should be something in settings, like "Update" which there isnt on mine.
Does anyone know why this is? And how to fix it?

Welcome to Esato!
Unless this feature is disabled by Vodafone for some inexplicable reason, you should be able to find your firmware version by going to Settings from the main menu, choosing the Update Service option and selecting Software Version in the submenu.

Or, you could install Sony Ericsson PC Suite for the modem drivers, then install My Phone Explorer and connect your phone, next go to the status/phone monitor(where the info about your phone is displayed like the battery life) and your firmware version should be indicated there.

Nope, sadly this one doesnt seem to have the "Update Service" option.
At least nowhere that i can see in the settings.
