In my mind, the K800i should never have been realeased. I'm on my 4th K800 and all of them have had major software glitches. My last K800 I've had 3 days for a gremlin to appear. I'm taking the phone back to the O2 shop im Leeds on the 12th and won't leave without a full refund or a non SE. phone of equal Spec's and price.

The 1st K800 the camera didn't work above VGA quality, the 2nd just went dead, just a little light in the IR port flashing. Yeah, the lights are on but there's no-one home!!! The 3rd and 4th alike won't register dialed or recived calls.

If like me you have Ģ200.00 to spend on a phone, forget the K800i especialy on O2 due to gremlins. I have found by ignoreing little fault's, they generaly lead to the major faults.

Conclusion, I'm gutted, and O2 / S.E. are rubbing their hands together all the way to the bank. Stand up, be counted, we want quality... After all, we're paying for quality.

If the K800i won't register dialed or received calls, clear the lists once and the problem is afaics solved. I donīt think they where broken, itīs a firmwarethingy with certain firmware. I myself love my K800i, if O2 people read forums they could have helped you with this

I have a (secondhand) K800i with O2's light firmware branding on it, and I have no serious problems with it. It's running the latest version that SEUS updates the phone to. When you say it won't register dialled/recieved calls, do you mean in the call register or it won't accept incoming/outgoing calls?

The only slight bug I've found is that sometimes the 2/ABC key needs pressing a second time as it won't register, which I've read is a bit of a firmware bug rather than software. My particular one has a charging problem and only charges via USB, but this I suspect is due to some slight moisture damaged which occured with it's previous owner.

@Sammy boy, he writes the last 2 K800i's won't register dialled/recieved calls in the call register, so there is no list of (incoming, outgoing etc) call's. That's why the last 2 phones where not broken (see my post)

I can make calls ok, but I've been trying to ring O2 Leeds, 01132456701. I dial the number, no answer, hang up and press the last dialed number. according to the phone that was the day I got it and a different number comes up. I'm gonna try clearing the calls to and from and see if that has any effect. Thanx for the info guy's, I still don't think I should have to do anything to get the to do what it says on the label...

Actually, just noticed mine's done the same thing, the only calls in the list were from 21st Feb and earlier! Have just reset my calls list too, will see if that works.

Not a big problem for me, though it is a bit of an annoyance!

With certain firmware on a new phone or after fw upgrade, it's an issue, only for one time (after upgrading fw) delete all the lists and it's solved [very little not to call "old" fw(/upgrade issue) bug]
(look at these posts dated 2006)

@lo - If I were in your place, I will never have to THINK-again of gettin' me an K800 on it's FIRST issuance . . . will not REFUND though, but get an equivalent handset, say like a Nokia N73. I hope things will get better the NEXT time mate . . . .
