Bookmark topic
Hello All you SE Pros here in the ESATO forums :
I've got an M600 and am using the OPERA MINI browser for web access /
On EVERY PAGE I VISIT i get a damn MIDLET Security Prompt /
it literally renders the web useless since i have to answer a question
before navigating anywhere online.
I'm hoping this is some work around for this / I've searched
and haven't come up with anything.
CAN ANYONE HERE HELP ?
How can i work around this security prompt / can it be disabled ?
I'd rather be able to actually access the internet on this fon than be "secure" .
thanks
PRAE

Just select "Yes, this session only", and you won't get the question again until you restart the browser. It's a security measure which can only be solved by Opera themselves (by signing their app).
You can get rid of the prompt by using the built in "Web" application (which in fact is another version of Opera), but that isn't a good solution in all cases...

Thanks Firetech /
When I Select ALLOW > Yes, This Session Only . . .
it only applies to the current page i'm on /
it's not even site wide. meaning a sub_page has to be signed as well.
are there any other browsers you would recommend for this phone ?
or any work around for the security measure ?
thanks

There is no work around for this stuff, it's built in the OS...
For me, selecting "this session only" works fine. In your case, I'd try to reinstall Opera mini or (if that doesn't help) do a master reset of the phone. (The latter shouldn't be needed, but you never know...)
Mind you, you'll loose your settings! (Reinstall: only Opera Mini's settings, Master Reset: ALL phone settings)

Go to the Midlet settings (Midlet accounts) on your phone and see if you can change something there for Opera Mini. Every program is listed there.

@Jamiri:
You can't select anything else than: "Ask every session (default)", "Always ask" and "Do not allow", since it isn't signed.
@PRAE:
Maybe that's your problem, you might have selected "Always ask" here.
Go to Menu > Tools > Control Panel > Security > MIDlet permissions > Opera mini, select "Internet access" under "User permissions" and then "Ask every session (default)" under "Interaction mode". There seems to be a firmware bug here, since the lower box doesn't update properly...

the In-built web browser is much better.

Especially when crashes ... the Opera mini never crashes and you can use it without worry. I find that midlet annoying but I got used to it.

In fact, all the Midlet request from all the Java software I have installed is annoying...
