Hi there,

I've been searching through these forums for a while now, but due to the inconsistent/mixed replies, I've decided to start a new specific post.

I've been looking for a mobile phone (preferebly SE) that has True USB Mass Storage support, i.e. the PC will see it as a USB drive (obvioulsy after XP does it's usual "found new hardware" auto install gubbings) WITHOUT having to install drivers from a supplied CD/download etc.

I'd like this to be made a sticky too if the list of official USB Mass Storage phones becomes sufficient enough to warrant this, and have this original post updated with said list.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance

SO FAR:
K610 (disk/phone prompt)
K800i
P990i (mounts a seperate drive for int and ext mem)
W900i
W810 (disk/phone prompt)

Own the K610, works like a usb flash disk without extra sostware, when you connect the USB cable it asks whether to act as usb disk or as phone. Selecting USB disk works the way you want. This should also apply for sure on K800, not sure which other phones support it

I think all the FastPort phones like my W810 do it, when you plug in it asks you to select between "File Transfer" and "Phone Mode". With File Transfer you don't need disks, the PC auto installs the drivers but for Phone Mode you need the CD.

Yeah I used ot think all the phones with the fast port were ok too. till I got my K750i! stupid thing needs the driver to work as a USB drive, and no "file transfer or phone" option either.

I'm just looking for definate answers in this post. There's too many "well, I think this one works" and "maybe that phone is OK"

Thanks again for your input guys

I'm hoping to add all the definate phones to the first post then get it made into a sticky for everyone else!

(Even Wikipedia doesn't have this info, well, it says the K750i is a no go)
