I know you can sync your contacts from your P990i to your PC. Is this possible with the W880i? If thats the case, then it should be no problem for you. Or maby you can transfer from PC to your W880i throu BT. Another solution for you is to copy to sim more then ones if you have so many contacts on your phone

Bluetooth them directly from one phone to the other. (Contact -> Tap at the top -> Mark -> Mark All -> Tap at the top -> Send as -> Bluetooth).
The quickest and easiest way to move between Sony Ericssons. (Although if you have pictures attached be prepared to sit back and wait a bit)
or if you won't have both at the same time, you could try backing up all your contacts to the memory card, copy this file to your pc, copy the file to the new memory card, restore the backup on the new phone

exactly... and it works perfectly as I've done exactly that from my M600 to my w880 since I can't get the standard pc suite to install on vista yet so I can sync, although fortunately I have managed to get the smartphone oc suite to install...

Or you could sign up for a free ZYB account at
www.zyb.com
Both the P990 and w880 are supported handsets.
--After signing up, follow the instructions to synchronize your contacts and calendar on the P990 using a data connection.
--Place the SIM in the w880 and use Zyb's Tools feature which allows you to synchronize the contacts and calendar to a new phone.
IMO this is a great service for those who regularly switch phones or maintain several phones. The ability to backup SMS was added recently but I haven't used it.
I've used the service on my P990 and m600.
