One bit of the current trend of is bothering me too much, now a days.
It's nothing but the Flash Lite Support.

When the W810i first got released and the menu customization power with flash lite was showed off, i was like WHOA ! and was very very pleased that had made something terrific!

but as the K800i got released i just got shocked, by knowing the fact that it doesn't support flash lite!

and by now all of us understand that it's a "Walkman" only feature and not 4 other 1's. What i don't understand, what's it got with "Walkman" and not with "K" series. I mean this is not a "walkman"-ish feature? and both of "w" and "k" are their top models (keep the "p" aside for now).

I was even more disappointed to find out that P990i doesn't support flash lite! I was shocked 2 b precise...and no sign of beign supported yet. I donno how much would it help me, but at least i could try doin' some R&D to make P990i support those flashy flash themes if just it supported flash.
Really really disappointed

@chamak - Yeah . . . I think top-of-the-line fones should have EVERYTHING (features) . . . but that's part of their strategy pal

@chamak - If will PUT all the BEST fone-features in just ONE fone . . . no ONE will buy their OTHER models, specially the HI-END ones . . . This is what I have been asking myself too with regards to Nokia's - Communicator series . . . During the release of the 9210/9210i . . . it has NO MMS-feature, unlike that of the 7650 model, which has a NICE VGA-camera too . . . as they say, they will NOT put all their EGGS in JUST one basket mate

Haven't use any phone that support flash lite so I can't comment on that. So far I am fully satisfied with animated gif.
Seems that answer question why SE don't have phone that support both EDGE and 3g/UMTS. I don't care about EDGE but I hope SE give me decent HSDPA mobile next year.

How does this FLASH LITE feature differ from animated GIF All along I thought of this flash lite as the LIGHT that can be used with the camera when taking images at night or dark areas . . . .

Flash Lite is the mobile version of Adobe/Macromedia Flash. I dont know what other things Flash Lite can do for the phone, other than having themes with different icons/menu.

Ah, maybe this is what ppl want. With K800 (and those who don't have Flash lite) we need to change file inside the phone /tpa/// to change menu and it behaviour.

If Flash lite can let you change your icon and menu behaviour just like a theme file change the background, etc then it is interesting indeed. Don't mind it on my next phone as I can make my phone more Liverpool FC oriented.

It bothers me greatly!

SE is starting to behave like Canon, another of my hated company, who deliberatly caps features of their products just so their 'high end' product will sell.

Hardware (capability) wise the K series is just as capable at running Flash Lite UI as the W series - they are just disabled/ not featured in the software for the K.

And look at what they are doing now - take the flash light or AF functionout of the W series.

This is pissing me off loads - WHY artificially seperate your customer base? Oh people who like to listern to music don't like taking pictures? It's itiot of SE to dictate what their customer wants.

I want a phone that's cap[able of taking good photos AS well as having a Flash Lite interface.

SE came THAT close to loose me as a very long term user this generation. With reluctant I upgraded to a K800i. If the next generation continues this non sense, bye bye SE.

P.S. I missed the torch function of my K750i.
