i was trying to update my software from the SE website but when i do all the steps it tells u 2 do nothing hapeens. any solutions?

A little more info would be good, like what phone, how it's connected to the computer etc.
Did you fully uninstall the update software from your computer (including deleting the update service folder in "program files" manually) before you installed it this time? That often helps.
