Hi I've had my new k800 for about a month now and i've been playing music through the loudspeaker on mid volume a lot. I've just noticed that the bass distorts on certain tracks which did not used to be there a month ago.

I have this feeling that the woofer in the loudspeaker is damaged but i cannot think why as i never have the volume on full on the loudspeaker when playing music, at most 7/8 green bars of volume which is rare. Could this have damaged the loudspeaker bass woofer?

The device obviously is small so i assume the loudspeaker would not be capable of taking really high volumes without getting damaged but i would have thought the speaker would be limited so that it would not blow.

In addition because the loudspeaker is not loud enough during phone conversations i have to have it at full volume, but could this really damage the loudspeaker if its just a phone convo?

i also have a hpm-82 earphone set so i tried playing the same tracks to see if it distorts too, which it does to some degree but i cannot tell if the loudspeaker is broken.

All i can remember is that the bass did not distort like that last week on that volume on those particular tracks to my recollection.

Does anyone have any idea whats happening?

I cant believe that the bass woofer in the loudspeaker is blown already cos i never use full volume so that cant be the cause. the only time volume is on full as i said is during phone conversation.

Have you changed the equaliser onto something bassier recently?

I don't think the loudspeaker has a 'woofer' in it, it's just a small unit. The one on mine tends to distort a bit too, I suspect the loudspeaker unit just isn't as good or durable as those in phones like Samsungs, which are very loud with surprisingly good clarity.

no its always been on the bassier option from the start.

i just feel on some level it must have a woofer or something bass built into it like your would a small earphone. all i know is that it wasn't distorting like that a week ago so i cant figure out what must have caused the sudden damage to the loudspeaker unit.

my only answer to it might be that having it on full volume during phone convos might have caused it but its necessary cos i cant hear anything otherwise.

does anyone else have this problem?

Ahh...There you go...My cuzin HAD the same problem in his mobile , he reseted all his settings and cleared up everything in his mobile my master reset , and the problem was gone , after 2 weeks the problem came again , so he went to the SE service center and told them about this problem , since his mobile was in warranty , they said the mobile speaker settings had some problem , they took it for 3 days and gave it back after that and it is working fine now ...

i dont think it is to do with the speaker settings.. i think it is to do with the speaker itself being damaged by the bass in the music as the device is very small.

i guess the only way to protect this from happening is to not have it at full volume which i didn't but i guess it doesn't make much difference. As long as the loudspeaker works for phone calls i guess thats the important thing.

Does anyone else experienced something similar?
