I tried listening to an iPOD with my W800's earphones and iPOD sucked. I dont know if the W800 earphones are only meant for phones, but when used with an iPOD they produced an ugly mess of a sound compared to W800.

Um, the free
earbuds are the ones that suck...
iPods have cleaner, more blanced sound than
phones, which are too muddy in their overly bass-iness.

You can only compare with the same earphones. Then i believe the sound quality on ipod is much the same of a walkmanphone. I never tried but If you compare SE walkmanphones with walkman mp3 from sony maybe you will get more difference in sound quality

the sound of an ipod sounds like a cheap £9.99 alba tape walkman from argos very similar headphones aswell but even the alba walkman sounds better which is super poor for an overly priced ipod. At least you can eaisily get it down to that level with the sony ericsson equaliser settings otherwise if your not happy you can always increase the bass difficult to try match that level though

Wowow, iPod's sound sucks big time.
If you want to compare SE Walkman, compare it with Sony's mp3 players or Creative.
They have excellent sound. Especially new NW-S700 series.
And I am not making this up. Many many people are admiting that iPod's sound isn't very good. But, hey, it's an iPod!!! Waa waa wee waa!
