I have a SE W810i.

Lately I have noticed that my phone automatically, without my interaction, connects to the internet from time to time, indicated by the globe-icon displayed on the status-row.

I have checked the session data and found out that it almost always sends 632 bytes and receives 577 bytes in 2 seconds.

What might be the problem? What might be the solution?

Not sure if the phone has this since its not a 3G phone, but on 3G phones the phones have the option under settings to check if new firmware is available. Normally is this setting set to on, that means the phone will check 1 time a month..

Just an idea to look for..

The automatic connection to the internet that I'm referring to goes off every ten minutes or so. The feeling is that some application (program) is running in the background, connecting to the internet, but that's definitiely not the case. And I can't really see how an inactive application, not explicitly started and running, can automatically sort of wake up and automatically connect to the internet without any interaction whatsoever. Normally, when applicable, I'm always asked if it's ok for an application to connect to the internet. But not in this case. Quite strange indeed.

My guess is that one of your email accounts are checking for new email. It does not need to be a working accountn.
