I have a few pop 3 email accounts all of which work okay when using my home Wi Fi connection.. Problem is i cannot receive email using GPRS..

The P990 tries to connect to a wi fi connection if available as this is my priority followed by GPRS if no wi fi is found. this is fine, as the prioity works when i just want to view a few web pages i get a GPRS connection and can surf the net using GPRS. But when getting and sending email, all i get is ''receiving' then time out unknown error messages. I've checked with my network o2 and say it may be the handset!?

Any ideas..?

Just a note on Wi Fi ..

I find it great to use.. but only at home with my router (where i rearly need it). i have never yet been able to retreive mail or view the web from anywhere else, i'v tried sevel hot spots with unsecured networks, all i get is a connection status showing i'm connected but with no ability to view web pages or get mail.. i've had the same problem with my lap top... Is there a simple solution to this, something wrong with my settings? or is wi fi just confined to certain networks..?

Any ideas..?

Have you got the right proxy settings? I posted the settings O2 gave me in the email setup section of the forum. One GPRS address only worked for web, not POP, but the other was good for both. mobile.o2.co.uk should be the one to use.
