> Is CeBit dying?
Bookmark topic
Officially, according to the organizers of CeBit, this event is a real success with 10% more attendance than the year before. However, things may not be as rosy. Some contacts within CeBit are drawing a totally different report. They said yesterday (2 days before the CeBit closes), some manufacturers are already closing their booths. It’s not unusual to see empty booths and even certain major manufacturers such as Sony and LG are not exhibiting their products during the event.
According to the sources, it seems the CeBit is only a business where selling tickets matters. The main criticism is that CeBit looks more like Disneyland than a professional event, with children running everywhere among products that sometimes are of great value. Anyway, we have to take these reports with caution, but the fact remains that some exhibitors are increasingly unhappy with CeBit.

Hi axxxr,
In the past Cebit was possibly the biggest European show their was and every Manufacturer would fight to be their and also showcase their soon be released devices. Now obviously the organisers are going to talk up the success and importance of the Show i mean what else can they do? but the fact that not every Manufacturer now attends and launches their new devices says it all IMO. I think with 3GSM and various other events plus the huge expense of having a stand it appears Cebit is defiantly on the decline of course this is merely MO.
