is it me, or is the w850's screen inferior compared to the k800's? i was comparing both phones side by side the other day, and i noticed that the w850 has a duller screen, even at the same brightness settings.
with both screens being QVGA, what's the difference? does the w850 also has a protective layer like the k800's screen? note that i did this comparison in a dark room.

both the k800i and the w850i have the same lcd but the k800i would appear brighter because the w850i has a light sensor which automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen.

the light sensor works independently. if there's too much light, the screen turns brighter as it is not possible to see the screen. when there's poor light the screen turns darker.

I think P990 is SE's flagship phone and not K800. I personally like the W850's light sensor. In the dark, the screen doesn't hurt your eyes unlike those of others that have a fixed brightness setting.

With regard to status, I do think that the W850 and K800 should be mentioned in the same breath. Anyway, I've no qualms with the W850 screen. It's perfect.

Yes you are right, W850 has bad screen, same as K750 compare to Z550, you'll disappointed if you notice,the colour of pictures looks fade, look at the white colour, it's yellowish ,and will lose detail if you use Jpeg format, so you can use Gif for the better,what happened with SE ?,they use the same specs of the screen, but different in performance,and these is the good TFT screen of SE that I knew, K700, S700, Z550,K790/K800, and W810, W880 and the bad TFT goes to K750,W550,W800,W700, and W850

w850 and k800 in the same breath? i beg to differ. the k800 is the flagship of the cybershot series, whereas w850 is just middle range as compared with the w880 (or different form factor?).
