Do you own a thirsty car?!

There are still many misconceptions surrounding oil prices and the price of products made from oil, such as gasoline.

The UK receives four times from taxation than the OPEC gets from the sale of its oil. A very 'tidy' profit, isn't it?

axxxr will certainly be able to answer this question

fatreg,

What is the exact price per litre &/or per gallon in the UK today?

Perhaps only Japan's rates can be compared with the UK's

Armando - Cabo Frio, Brazil - March 26, 2007

P.S. In Brazil, it is also quite expensive, over US$1,20 per litre! [A.R.]

fatreg,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Your rates are about 50% hiher when compared with Brazil and 36 (thirty-six) times higher than the cost in Venezuela!

If you want to learn how they 'do it' over there, you may peruse their website, they have a very interesting newsletter: "Contect with the new PDVSA".

INCOMPLETE URL !

Here are the missing letters for the words 'database' and 'fichero'

After the words and 'slash': /interface.en/

Youl'll have to digit:

database/fichero/

before 'publicacion'

Why was the URL 'edited/cropped' ?!

Otherwise you'll have to search for the link via the homepage:

Petrol here in kashmir, india. costs a dollar per litre. You can get around 1.8 litres per pound.
Diesel costs 1 pound for about 2.5 litres.

How do these figures compare elsewhere.

Here is the Latest News from OPEC, Rates & Taxes in 2006 from the G-7 nations:

http://www.opec.org/home/PowerPoint/Taxation?taxation.htm

The UK is the leader ....just as usual.

Venezuela offers its drivers the best rates in the world: (five) cents per litre.

In the UK it is over 30 (thirty) times more expensive!

P.S. Here are two interesting websites: www.opec.org and www.pdvsa.com [A.R.]
