oh no i think i mess my phone up, i was using it witout keypad for a long time and decided to put it back on and didnt turn off the phone. the keypad works for sure in flip open mode all the keys respond in different programs but flip closed the lights dont come on the keys and they dont respond. did i short it out? can i fix this where do i go from here no one in the US as far as i know will service this phone. im sad

Take the Keypad off, then when the phone is off put the keypad on. Then boot it up, go to control panel and under other/flip removed, make sure the enable virtual box is unchecked.

hello. i tried what you said and i have the same problem. what should my next step be? should i reflash my firmware? i dont want to lose all my settings and programs if i can though.

I had a kind of simlar issue and it was due to the interface on the flip having a bit of crap on it. I cleaned it and all was well...
Why did you not turn the phone off... it's not a hot swappable part
