Today, my Symantec Antivirus program detected a virus hidden in the uninstall fiule for MyPhoneExplorer 1.5. If you are planning to uninstall this software, do it manually by deleting the folders instead of running the uninstaller.
Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just me that has tried to uninstall this software?

try to scan with different antiviruses:

It's not a virus btw, it's a security risk, mostly not harmful

Yes, whatever, according to
Symantec's virus dictionary, it's a "misleading application that is installed without user notification or consent by a Trojan." a.k.a. SpyDawn (Sophos). In any case, it shouldn't be there.
Keyloggers are also harmless to your system until someone starts using the information they collect.
Since MY antivirus program quarantined the uninstaller, it was pretty difficult to uninstall the software. If the people behind this product have any decency left, at least they could provide a virus-free uninstaller. Sorry, I mean security risk free uninstaller. Or at least one without the VirusBurst program, whatever you want to call it.

I don't remember exactly, but most probably through a link from Esato. I usually trust things posted in here. I will not do that anymore.

Just search on Google for that virus and see if it's bad

maybe your computer has the virus and it infected the uninstall file.

I'm pretty sure that my computer isn't virus infected, it has its antivirus program running always, and the virus definitions are updated daily (company computer).
If you run the virus check on the single install file, MyPhoneExplorer_Setup_1.5.9.exe, SAV does not find any viruses, it's not until all files are unpacked and you run the uninstall program that the runtime virus protection catches it, so the malware is definitely well hidden and it seems like someone has made an effort to do so.
Of course, it might also be so, that a certain part of the uninstall.exe binary code just happens to have exactly the same checksum and signature as the named virus/malware, and in fact is innocent, I can't tell, since the SAV does not let me run the uninstaller.
So far, I'm not accusing anyone, just telling the facts:
My antivirus program has detected malicious software in the uninstall program for MyPhoneExplorer 1.5.
