I've kind of mentioned this in another thread but thought it best if I created a specific thread as I seem to be having trouble in general with Wotanserver.

I've tried flashing a fully working W850i, which was locked to Orange but now unlocked as from yesterday with a code from Orange. I decided, in my infinate wisdom to try debranding the phone this morning using Wotan.

But unfortunately it crashed part way through the flash with one of those annoying Windows errors (the one that pops up and asks if you want to send the details to Microsoft) and throws me out of Wotanclient. It seems to be happening more since they updated the client software, I can't use the previous version as it simply tells me it's out of date.

I might try using my wife's laptop when I get hope for the update, but is there anything I should know about flashing these kinds of phones as I'm new to this? Anything special I need to do? Or could there be some sort of conflict on my system between Wotan and something else causing my system to crash?

Help please, as I've just bricked a rather expensive phone! It currently only turns on to a white screen, it's still recognised by Wotanclient but just won't finish the flash

Please someone help me before I create 6 identical topics entitled 'Plz Help!' and write it in CAPITALS and TXT SPK!

(@mods - only kidding of course! )

But I could really do with some help here, or someone to reflash it for me to get me out of the trouble I've gotten myself into!

just for interest... have you tried SEUS?

Not yet, though tried that with a K800i it does the same thing with, although that phone has some moisture damage as I've just found out.

I'll also try the W850i with SEUS, though I suspect it'll do the same as it does with the K800i and say I've got the latest version, even if I try putting an old firmware version on the phone

Will have a go when I get home - am at work at the mo.

worth a try, perhaps SEUS has a bit more recovery in it than 3rd party services

Submit a ticket to WotanServer along with what happened and the debug info. They will do something to you. Good luck.

Just tried with SEUS, and it's hanging at 93%, then going back to the start, no error message or anything!

I never realised flashing could be so damn frustrating!

Edit: Just tried again with the same result

was the phone faulty when you bought it?

this could well be the reason, or try lowering the bitrate of flashing if you can.

ive sent you a PM about it all too.
