Hi all. new to this so please bear with me.
i purchased a w850i from o2 when it was first released, and until now have had no problems whatsoever. today i purchased a sony mspd 4gb from an amazon retailer. up until now i have been using the original sandisk mspd 2gb and have had no problems. i was told that the w850i accepts 4gb cards and more?, for some reason the phone will not recognise the new card. it offers to format and gives the warning about data loss. on pressing yes it fails every time. i have formated the card in xp using fat16 and fat32 but the same happens with both formats. xp seems to recognise the card with no problems. and i have done all the checks to see if it is a counterfeit card and it doesn't seem to be. any ideas because i am losing my rag.

I don't know what your next step will be but I can assure you that 4gb works on w850 as I have used this combination
maybe return the card for a relpacement?

I have a 4GB Mstick in my w850i and no problems what so ever.
Must be something the sw in the phone, do you have the latest version ?
Can it be O2 that have put some restrictions in there sw ?
My phone was not locked / branded when I bought it.

its almost certainly not to be a problem with the firmware
have you tried the card in another phone?
