The other day I downloaded a £3 game direct to my M600i from the Sony Ericsson website - Lego Star Wars 2 - and installed it on my memory stick. Everything was fine until I had another go at reflashing my phone last night, reset the internal drive, and reinstalled everything... I suppose I should have known I'd be lucky to keep the game, but since it was on the memory stick rather than the C: drive I thought it might be okay.

Anyway - it still appears in the Entertainment menu where I left it, but clicking on the icon just gives the message "Application couldn't be started". It doesn't appear in the install menu (so I can't reinstall it), but it does show as an installed app in the uninstall list.

Anybody got any ideas on getting it back, short of paying another £3?

If you've still got the files on your MS, I'd uninstall it form the the phone, and then reinstall from the MS.?.?

Your phone won't show it as an installable app while the phone thinks it is currently installed, but you should be fine if you still have the original files you recieved for the 3 quid.

imo, you will have to get the java game again. when you format your phone, you loose the vital information about your installed application, the same way like program files in your computer and again you have to run the SETUP again.

@ajeetpv, I think you're right - thanks for the help though both of you. With nothing to lose, I tried uninstalling it, to see if it would then let me install it again - but it didn't. I guess uninstalling just removed the last of the files from the MS.

I guess I might have been able to restore it from the backup I made just before reflashing, but apparently that can cause it's own set of problems re UIQ3 stability, so I suppose I'll just swallow the £3....
