I've been a fan of sony ericsson for around 6-7 years, (i even spent £350 on a T68i the day it was released!) but my P990i just isn't living up to expectations and i'm off to the dark side..and a Nokia N95

I love my P800 and the P910 was probably the best phone i've ever had but it's just sad that i can't run all apps in flip closed mode for example, or that it's so slow in terms of the OS, or that the camera is only 2MP, even JAVA isn't totally compatible with the majority of apps i have (sky mobile and Google Mail) and the choice of S60 apps far outweigh the UIQ selection available

So, i've bought an N95 and i hope to return once the successor to the P990i is released with it's major issues resolved

Can anyone persuade me otherwise?

Good luck to you. Personally I'll wait for the successor to the p990i. Nokia has never enticed me in any way except with the e90. The only other nokia I like is the 8800. N95 has become boring for me. Yes sure it was a marvel when announced but now it seems dull. The e90- now that I will definitely buy if SE don't bring a worthy p series. So for me it is up to Sony Ericsson.

I've been with SE since Ericsson merged with Sony-mostly because of Ericsson- and still have a bit of hope left that they may pull it off. Having said that however, and given your statement above, can you honestly say there is a device from SE that compares with or beats the e90 in terms of the rest of the features? If you can give me that SE device then I'd get that instead.

no. i agree. the host of features that both N95 and E90 exhibit are extremely attractive. I wish I had those in my P990 though

@Kalu,

That really is an absurd statement to make as it is so feature rich and includes 80mb of free Ram to enable full multitasking approximately 4 times the P990 on boot up. It also supports hot swapping of memory cards and just how many files do you have that are 2gb big? Not of course forgetting the large qwerty keyboard and a screen to die for but you are welcome to stick with your out of date spec P990 with all it's problems.

@macjasp

Can't blame you at all and you certainly aren't the first to jump ship and very much doubt you will be the last either, hope you enjoy your new phone when you get it and welcome to the wonderful world of S60 3rd Edition.

Marc
