Hi, I'm having a sound problem with my P990, the incoming sound level in calls is low, I have to press the phone tightly to my ear to be able to hear the other party speaking, but the volume is on Max. Is there any trick to do to be able to increase the volume? although while using a BT headset the sound is loud enough.

any ideas?

cheers

i also have the same problem.looking at the earpiece, it is somewhat like covered and the sound seems to go around somewhat like a channel.im thinking of drilling three small holes on that barrier..hehehe

my first post by the way..hehehe

Hi, I posted this is another thread and the remedy is something I saw from another poster.

i had the same problem when i updated to the r4. i found a post somewhere on a forum that fixed it. you go into the service menu to the speaker setting, change the volume from 50 percent up to the full 100, exit, reboot et voila! volume as loud as before so that you have to turn it down at times! ive tried it and it works. saved my sanity heh heh. that volume issue had me ticked off for over a month. wish i could give credit to the poster who originally posted it but i cant recall. let me know if it works for you.

I belive that was my post. And YES, that did the trick. After that the sound was as it should be, loud

@ Tail - thanks for the tip there! That was my only absolute problem with R4...the volume.... Don't get me wrong, all the other issues im looking forward to seeing addressed...but this was one thing that went to the route of cell phone usage!!

@nobelwolf - I don't get how it works either, I thought it was just a sound test. I can't see how changing the sound in a TEST will cause the overall volume for the phone to improve, but it WORKS!

any idea how this really works tail?

I hope the new firmware R5 doesnt take this "trick" away if the volume issues even still exists after the update....
