Unfortunately this new firmware isn't available for all regions. Only Central Europe countries have it, so IMHO it's not that 'major' release. Or Wotan still takes time to upload more files? Correct me if I'm wrong. Based on K810i R1KC001, you won't never see the video preview feature anymore. This R1KC001, if the same as K810i, updates the Java version to 7.4. More stability but not on camera.

it also requires a firmware update, if your ota cid is NOT 52 you can't
get it !

the thing is that needs the upgrade to beef the firmware security up. but for us, the customers, this doesn't give us anything, but just one step away from fully customizing it à la k750.

I just tried to update a friend's K800i to R1KC001 via WotanServer---he just said OK to change his CDA to EUROPE 5 from APAC as he thought he just needed English and German---good then, so I can do an experiment with this new R1KC001. The flashing went smoothly. In general it's similar to K810i R1KC001 firmware. Here are my findings so far:

1. No more video preview in File manager. The video keeps still, not playing when being highlited, unlike the previous firmwares. So, IMHO it is done to improve stability or a step backwards?? I don't know.

2. Java is updated to version 7.4. More stability again?

3. Content is now PA 30, Text is revised to version CB, and Wotan uploaded new Customisation version R6A. The date of all files turn into March 1, 2007. No improvement in Camera driver. IMEI is added with '34' info at the last digit, which is normal.

4. The date of firmware checked from Update Service is 070318 ( March 18, 2007). So it's totally fresh from the oven.

5. Don't worry, SEUS still recognises the phone.

6. As usual Wotan leaves a strange info under customisation. This time is still 99E0W. 99 Errors 0 Warning. Believe me, I took out the SIM Card and M2, fully charged the battery to 100 percent, and follow each step of flashing carefully. So Wotan, what can you say now? That I changed my CDA? I got the same 99E0W with the original 'from-factory' CDA before.

I'll post later when I finished exploring further on the phone.

I haven't been able to use my k800i for months because of random crashes...WSOD's...etc... then eventually the fone not even turning on, and so far its stable as

(btw I was trying every new firmware as it came available
