Ever since the launch of MP3 ringtone capable SE models like K700, S700, P910 the ring volume of SE handsets was the maximum of all other manufacturer's models. The highest volume ones being the K750, w550 and P910. But after that the Ring Volume started to decrease with the arrival of W810 and current models (K550, w830, M600, P990, W880 etc) have so pathetically low Ring Volume that its impossible to hear them outdoors. I wonder why is it so? W810 and K750 both have the same Speaker for Ringtones but why is there so much difference in Volume.

SonyEricsson please do something bout the low ring volume as it is driving away customer to other Manufacturers.

my k800 sounds fine, not much difference from my previous k700 and louder than the t610 in my opinion. are you sure you haven't changed the volume settings to max? the default is only 5/8 i think.

my volume was on max when i had the k800i. I didnt think it was loud enough. On par with the w810i. Had trouble hearing both some times....

one thing though is i noticed the speakers sounded clearer on the k800, the sound is more refined and 'clean'. maybe the lack of extra 'noise' is what's giving the impression that the k800 is quieter?

the w810i very similar, if not the same to me as k800.......

the speaker on my old k750 was loud but crap quality, and i remember the w810 being lower volume but added base and clarity...

could be a clarity issue then? less noise equals more quiet sound? just a theory, but when i switched my ipod's default earphones to canal phones which had better clarity, i had to turn the volume up cos' it sounded too quiet. don't think it had much to do with the impendance too. so maybe our ears are just used to noise?
