Here's the link with the tutorial and several new flash menus for the adventurous.

http://www.topsony.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43

It works like a charm for combining the built-in W850 flash menus with any available theme.

I hope other people will find it easy and fun as much as I did.

Cheers
and of course a big thank you to those who found the way to tweak the themes.

I'm glad you find it helpful. My firmware is apparently the latest one available via SEUS: R1JG001, but I believe "crossbreed" themes can be made regardless of the firmware version, as the (vibrating) flash menus are there from the start. I wish new FWs would bring new flash menus, but I'm afraid that won't be the case...

Cheers!

I believe the flash menus are not in FW but in XS. You can put all SE's swf menu such as flash menu from w810 to w880. (if u have the files) inside 'tpa' folder in XS files.

@freackers,

Yes, you're right. You can upload other flash menus. I'm not sure whether the menus from previous Walkman phones would fit because of the difference in screen size. Probably not.

Cheers!

However the flash menus that come with the phone are probably part of the firmware (I'm no expert on these issues, though...)

So if you just want to combine the existing flash menus in your phones (for W850, for example, femaleLine_desktop.swf, orangeBubbles_desktop.swf and grouped_desktop.swf) with new themes (thus avoiding the dull default non-flash theme menu), skip the whole XS story in the tutorial and start from step 8.

I hope this helps.

@ mobse
i'm afraid you gave me (us?) wrong info.
i couldn't flash (XS's) my phone with R1GJ001 firmware inside. because like i told before its CID 52, which XS haven't support yet.
see this link:
http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=7706&st=0&gopid=105650&#entry105650

Now its too late.. i want my R1GB001 back......
