I would go for Nokia. Reason is i prefer their phones. The only Walkman phone i liked was the W900i but that never lasted. I prefer Nokia on every count. I know SE has been the favorite for music phones but Nokia will catch up i believe that due to their experience and expertise. I think SE has lost the plot releasing the same phone over and over again. Nokia seem more inventive and make exciting new products. SE has gone stale and boring to me. Their phones are unreliable too. For sound quality SE may have the edge at the moment but things will change but i dont really bother with music much on my phone. I use the tracks i download for ringtones.

^ I agree with you but I dont think I would have ditched my W800i or W900i for the 5700.

According to gsmarena the 5700 has the following:
- 35 MB of user memory
- 64 MB SDRAM, 128 MB ROM
- ARM 11, 369 MHz CPU

Are the above specs correct?

Musically I doubt nokia will catch SE. This is where the Sony partner comes into play. Overall I agree with the points that SE has become boring.

No i dont sorry. I know some of Nokia smartphones dont have the best battery life but the N73 does. Even so putting my Nokia 6233 along side the K800i the battery life is just as good on my Nokia if not better. My Nokia is fast with its menus and texting and the SE battery i found went down very quick and that was with 3G off. I find SE phones slow with their menus which has emanated from the Ericsson days with their slow chip. Cant stand it. As for sound quality SE has the edge now but Nokia are catching up and their N91 was given 4 stars for sound quality in What Hi Fi. And their experts.
