I have a K750i which I shall upgrade soon, and I was thinking of getting a K800i. I am quite interested in the MP3 player functionality of phones, and I was about to get a 2Gb or even a 4Gb Pro Duo card, and I've just realized that the K800i takes the Micro memory card, and these don't go as big as Pro Duo cards. I noticed that even some of their W series phones, which have a focus on MP3 player functionality, take Micro cards. But I read on the S-E site "Adaptors are available if you want to use with Memory Stick PRO-compatible products." Does that refer to Pro Duo, or not? Does it mean the bigger card sticks out of the side, or how does it work? Maybe I'll just try to get another K750i.

I would be grateful for any comments or suggestions.

lol, no memory sticks sticking out of the side.

the micro (M2) can be placed into either a duo adaptor, or a full size memory stick adaptor so that you can use the M2 in devices that take duo, or full size respectively

edit: so if you want to get a memory stick now to use in K750, but also be able to use it later in K800, you should go for the M2 and use a duo size adaptor while its being used in the K750

Thank you Masseur for your explanation. You have explained that I can use a Micro card in a phone designed for Pro Duo, but can I have 4Gb Pro Duo card in a phone designed for Micro cards, but for which "adaptors are available if you want to use with Memory Stick PRO-compatible products"?

@DennyL, no, sorry, newer cards are backwards compatible with older cards, but not the other way around.

This is because the newer ones get smaller and can be adapted to a larger size that matches the older cards, but you can't fit larger cards into a smaller hole (and I've seen nothing that lets you use them "sticking out the side"!)

Agree. W850 sounds good as an option. If you dont care about the lack of autofocus, then go for the w850. Otherwise you can go for the k550.
