We're getting a plethora of stupid questions from 12 year olds it seems. The mods should be deleting their backward questions and keep the forum with a degree of intelligence.

A question is not stupid if you don't know the answer. I personally don't have a problem with them. Admittedly though, some could do with acquainting themselves better with the

function, but I wouldn't call them retarded.
I've lately been asking a few stupid questions myself both on here and SE-NSE, as I've just started getting into the software/firmware side of repairs and I've been asking some 'noob-ish' questions!
I have no problem with helping these people, to them what they are asking is valid, and if I can answer the question in a sentence or two I will do. All boards and forums need new blood, and insulting them and scaring them away by calling them 'retarded' isn't on

Well I'm going on the P990i firmware thread and the SEUS threads. There is a massive lack of common sense lacking IMHO.

I think as long as people do a search before asking a question, and RTFM (Read the F***ing Manual) then I don't have a problem with 'silly' questions. Though I haven't frequented the P990i thread so don't know what kind of questions are asked there - could you give some examples?

This thing about reading the manual is something that alot of people dont do. And I can sometimes tell on the question if they have or not. If they havent, then I do not answer

what I usually do is tell them to look up a certain page number (where the answer is) in the manual (online for that matters). maybe this way they get to open it and read it next time.

It can be daunting here for a newbie as the whole place will be unfamiliar but they soon get the hang of things.
I think the best thing to do is to at least try and help or provide some pointers.
(The search function still puzzles me sometimes!!)
