Iran's first domestically made mobile phones will hit the market in June, says a senior Iranian telecoms industry official.
Esato News
The new mobile phones will be sold under the brand name ITMC.The Chief of Iran Telecommunication Manufacturing Company, Mohammad Ebrahim Mottale', told Fars news agency that Iran will manufacture its mobile phones in cooperation with South Korean firms.
"We have finalized an agreement with the Korean side to manufacture cellphones in Iran," he said.Mottale' did not specify any financial details of the deal nor did he name the Korean companies involved in the project.
All of the required technical equipment for the project have been purchased and some 300,000 cellphones will be manufactured in the first six months of production, he said.
Mottale' said he expects mobile phone production in Iran to reach two million units a year within the next two years. source:

oh me an iranian dont know whether to be proud or not coz i'm worried about all this being copies...ofcourse this is the way they always do,copying:D
i hope they will success(absolutly they wont sell well enough due to their always really poor quality stuff comparing with well-known brands)
but personally dont think this would be a copy, they're just manufacturing draws of the Korean side under their license,as they do the same about Renault L90,or many LG home and computer parts...
(btw, that's not our traditional national flag)
thanks

I'd say you are right, though usually lower spec'd version, for example Peugeot's are made under licence in Iran, but they are made with locally sourced components, and with lower specification levels and lower performance levels.

If they're able to enrich uranium for nuke, it's not a big deal for them to make a fone

no,not really a big deal...but since they are making lots of the poor's money this way,why to spend more????
for example,Peugeots are made in iran as mentioned,at what price you think they're selling and poor people buying???a peugeot 206 costs at least near 11,000 US dollars here...which is famous in name of $5,000 car and has really nothing much to offer,a mid-low.
anyways,i hope this range of phones would be good,LG or Samsung???

I think Mercedes have a factory in Iran as well. Most police cars I've seen are Mercedes C-Classes.

it seems as soon as Police C-Classes came to run, criminals did such obvious to get catched and have a ride

Great thing about the C-Class is that a criminal in his Peykan isn't going to out run it.
