Hi,
I bought the ES P990i about 2 months ago. I thought the phone would display, icons etc. that appear in the their adverts. I've been in touch with SE email support. The told me to go to: Go to [MAIN MENU] > Select the drop down list at the top of the screen > Select [VIEW AS GRID]. But I don't have the option [VIEW AS GRID] from my drop-down menu.

SE replied saying that Vodafone Ireland have customised the display, icons etc. After surfing the web it looks like Orange in the UK did the same, to see what my display looks like go the SE Knowledge base using this URL: http://knowledgebase.sonyeric[....]range&resultType=5002#Goto1020

As you can see it's very dull and boring. I've contacted Vodafone Ireland and I'm waiting for a reply.

Does anyone out there know how I can get my display to appear as it does in SE adverts and Vodafone Ireland's adverts too!

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks a million for your help I'll give Kulan Kendi a try and see what happens, I'll let you know if it works.

I debranded both my P990i and W950i without a hitch mate all the info is in the forum, it's best to read it thoroughly though first mate less chance of it going wrong that way!!

Or any other branded symbian phone! They all suck and manage to slow the whole thing down!

Theres a thread here on how to change your CDA to global, then you can use SEUS to update the firmware and hey presto its back to the original SE ones.

Lads,

I just unbranded my P990i using Kulan Kendi, it worked, no problems, so thanks all out there for the help. My phone is now running CDA 162007/1, no more Vodafone stuff.

BTW, I see on another thread that there is now a CDA 162007/2, has anyone used this and if so, what are the changes, better etc.?

That CDA has always been there mate it is world generic 2, you now have world generic 1, as far as i know new software for both of these is the same and released at the same time! there really is no need to change CDA again!
