Just what I want to know. Even IE7 is stupid regarding itself. No I'm not crazy, I just have a gripe.

IE7 has the groundbreaking technology called tabbed browsing. I don't really use it but its our default browser. So you sign into MSN messenger and it tells you have new mail, you click IE launches, I'm not complaining. Now if I were to click someone's profile or even open anything else that would launch in IE it opens it in a new window. The twist is that checking my gmail through google talk results in opening a new tab I don't think I have things set to open in new windows in IE. Is just Google has more intelligent developers or is tabbed browsing is such a new concept at MS that they don't quite know how to us it yet?

yeah, I've noticed this. I only started using IE7 when I got vista but another thing that bugs me is this

I have 3 default homepages which open in 3 tabs when IE7 starts
as its starting up, if I click alt-a for favourites and pick one, it opens in one of the other tabs more often than not... why won't it open in the tab I am in!

weird... I still prefer avantbrowser as my interface though

Surely you didn't take that seriousely. Opera has had tabbed browsing for a lot longer than Firefox, mainly because Opera's been around longer. I use opera, unless as in this case an app thinks it has to use IE. But then IE doesn't know how to keep everything in one window.

Since i met opera and firefox i said bye bye to IE. Though i'm forced to use IE at work because of the proxy. Can anyone suggest me a decent proxy that allows me to use opera or FF with no problems?
