i have dialup connection and want to upgrade firmware via wotan
how long will it take to download and flash my phone via my slow connection.

Dont know but it takes around 7 minutes on high speed so i would say 30 mins?

To save battery and energy by using a dial up connection, try these steps:
1. Go to My Account in www. wotanserver.com.
2. Enter your log in and password.
3. Click Downloads area.
4. Download the Files you want based on the CDA you choose. There MUST be two files downloaded, with .wtm and .wtf extension. For example if you want to have Asia Pacific CDA, you must download:
K800 R1KC001 CHINA WI RED 52.wtm and K800 R1KC001 APAC RED 52.wtf
If you want EUROPE 5 CDA you must download:
K800 R1KC001 GENERIC WI RED 52.wtm and K800 R1KC001 EUROPE 5 RED 52.wtf
IMPORTANT: You must know which wtm and wtf combination precisely. Otherwise, Wotan will download the correct files again in your dial up connection and you may run out of battery power waiting for it to be completed later. So, browse here and there in the internet to learn much about the correct combination.
5. Save those files in a folder in your PC.
6. In dial up connection, of course it takes forever to download. But you can do anything else while the two big files are being downloaded from the FTP server. You can go shopping, sleeping or having lunch somewhere.
7. When you're back, don't know two or three hours after that, the two files should be completely downloaded.
8. Create a folder named "flash" in the same folder where your WotanClient.exe located.
9. Put the wtm and wtf files inside flash folder you created.
10. Run Wotan Client and follow the steps shown.
11. Wotan will only download the additional Customisation and FOTA flash files to be saved in flash folder. They are only less than 600 kb, just fine with a dial up internet connection.
12. 10 minutes after that, you will have had the phone flashed to the new firmware you want. No problems..

I suggest
K800 R1KC001 GENERIC WI RED 52.wtm
and
K800 R1KC001 EUROPE 1 RED 52.wtf
You can choose either Europe 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. It always contains English. Don't choose Trade, or O2 ,Vodafone or Hutch if you want SIM Free firmware. Good luck.

when i run the client it fetches the other two files you mentioned
then i just get an error
what could be wrong ? help
my phone has
Phone Color: Red
Phone CID: 52
Status Ok, OTP Close, CID49, PAF1
are the k800 files i downloaded wrong?

It seems that K800_CXC1250490_EUROPE_2_R1KC001_RED52.wtf got corrupted while downloading and the only thing you can (probably) do is to re-download that file...

i'm going to try the suggestion above..
but currently i no able to connect (asian FTP), i'd like to ask wotan if their asian server if done or maybe open a ticket... but am thinking twice coz everytime i do that.. i get a bullsh!t reponse
