> Sony Ericsson Takes the No 3 Spot in Russia

Russia: Sony Ericsson outstrips Motorola
According to preliminary estimates 6,7mln mobile phones were sold in Russia by retail at $1,41bln in the first quarter of 2007. The number of mobile phones sold in 2007 grew by 3% as compared to the same period of last year. There was also 12% financial growth. Sony Ericsson became third in the volume of mobile phones sold in Russia. The Japanese-Swedish vendor has outrun Motorola.
A significant event has taken place on the market recently. Sony Ericsson has entered the top3 leading mobile vendors. It accounts for 16,9% of the market. The two previous leaders didn’t change. Nokia and Samsung account for 25,7% and 21,8% of the market respectively. Motorola is only fourth with 15,3% share.
