As I understand it TomTom6 will work but you'll still need a bluetooth gps. None of your N70 symbian apps will work on the N95 because it uses a different operating system. You need to look for s60 3rd edition software.

yep correct....

U will need the new version of tomtom to work on 3rd edition symbian handsets BUT Tomtom wont pick up your internal GPS as Nokia seem to have stopped external progs (other than its own) to pick up the GPS (could this be due to the fact that they charge for using theirs??? lol)...

Only time will tell if Nokia open up the GPS usage etc an let other manufacturers use it... but to b honest get an external one anyway... much better reception than the built in one and as long as its within 10meters u can have the reciever wherever u want lol...

Apparantly the problem is just that TomTom and the other programs aren't wired to look for any other gps than bluetooth ones. I also may be wrong about working on the N95 as I've heard there are problems with the 6.02 version.

@shug... as i said above it was NOKIA who havent released the correct SDk's etc to the various gps software ppl in time for a general release...

They still havent so TomTom and the like are having to write it from the ground up or change the whole program etc... which will take a little time!

It will be on the Sat Nav programme company's to make their software work because as mentioned Nokia charge you monthly to use theirs so are likley to be unwilling to let Tom Tom etc work for free or one of payments. It's rubbish anyway as it just drains the battery quicker and is'nt as sensitive as a seperate BT GPS module.
With the above post this thread will be locked soon anyway.

actually you could just get amazegps, navigation is free and it uses N95's internal gps receiver.
