> P990 SMS disappears with Keylock?
Bookmark topic
Anyone else had this?
When writing an SMS - if you get distracted for a moment and come back to your phone and the KeyLock's activated itself - you lose everything you've written!
The SMS doesn't automatically save itself in Drafts or anything logical.
Done a search within the SMS's and can't find a draft stored anywhere.
Seems really naff to me. Am I alone!
PS - P990 is with Flip removed if that influences anything!
Cheers all.

doesn't help you much but I just tested on M600 and the auto keylock just applies over the top of whatever you are doing, in this case writing a text.
when you unlock the keys you are back exactly where you were
so its strange that the P990 should be different

You sure it isn't Swiss Manager or something that is fooling around, cleaning up on idle?

If I do the Keylock manually - it does exactly as you've stated.
It's just if the Keylock comes on after the 30 seconds (or whatever it's set at) of inactivity.
It's basically - for example - if I'm writing a text at work and someone asks me something, by time I've replied and got back the phone - it's all gone!
I've changed the settings to make the keylock delay for longer but don't want it to be too long otherwise it's pointless having it.
I'm sure many will say - just turn it off - but just seems really bizarre that it's doing this.

Just tried with latest firmware (Organizer R5A17), and nothing disappeared. Even forgot I was testing, so the phone lay idle for about two minutes or so.
EDIT: Yes, I tested with the flip open (with the FO keylock activated), but my flip is still attached.

@Firetech
Ahh - good thinking - could be.
I've not long installed Swiss Manager so could be that.
Not really delved into it and got to grips with it yet.
I'll look deeper.
Cheers

What I meant wasn't that you needed to install Swiss Manager, but that it might be "cleaning up on idle", which many people misinterpret. (Lots of "Why does my music stop playing after 2 minutes?" questions.) For Swiss Mgr, "idle" means no touching the phone, not if the phone actually does something while you're not touching it...

@ Firetech
Yep - that is what i thought you meant and I've disabled Messaging to have "Cleanup when idle" checked.
Many thanks.
