> K800i - losing e-mails
Bookmark topic
Hi all,
I've just upgraded from a SE V800 to a SE K800i, but I'm having a problem with the e-mail feature.
All the settings are identical on both my phones, however, I seem to lose e-mails when I send/receive with my K800i.
Example: I received an e-mail at 1pm and 2pm, and did a send/receive at 1.30pm and 2.30pm. I got the 1pm e-mail on the first send/receive, but that e-mail was lost when I picked up the 2pm e-mail on the second send/receive. My V800 would simply add new e-mails to the existing ones, as one would expect!
When I download the messages from the server (on my PC), all the messages are there, but the ones that I lost on the phone go straight to my spambox.
Please help.

I use an ISP's POP3 mailbox, and the settings are identically set to my old phone.
It sends/receives e-mails properly, just loses previously-retrieved e-mails once new ones come through.

Someone had a similar problem with GMail... Losing emails... It was all sorted out by changing pop mail config. settings of your account... So you try that... on your PC...

Do you use another email client also, for example on a PC, that has the setting "Remove from server" activated? In that case, the messages are np longer left on the server, and then they are removed from the phone the next time you run send/reveive. Or, do you test the email function with your old phone in parallel? If that phone removes the emails from the server, you have the same problem.

Thanks for your help, but the problem is with the phone.
Example: If I receive 5 e-mails on the phone's first send/receive and 3 e-mails on the phone's second send/receive... I will only left be able to see the later 3 e-mails on my phone (In other words, the first 5 have been lost). However, when I do a send/receive on the PC, all 8 e-mails download!
My Sony Ericsson V800 (using exactly the same settings) doesn't have this problem. It (rightfully) keeps all e-mails on my phone until I've picked them up from my PC or deleted them from the server.

If both the phones have exactly same settings, and still you face this problem, then, maybe you upgrade the firmware etc. etc.... As such nothing is possible... IMHO...
