> help! w950i not being found by pcsuite

i just upgraded my generic 2 w950i to firmware R9F011...and now i want to do a back up,but the phone is being found only in fast transfer mode,once i tap normal mode the pcsuite displays no phone is connected

I had the same. On the P990i though.
I uninstalled everything: drivers, sync station, m-router and a applications, in this order. Had to reboot after each of the steps.
Then I deleted the folders names Sony Erickson from the PC.
And finally, I installed the PC Suite 1.3.11 and now it works.

The back up files exist under another folder, called Teleca.
That folder path is
C: or D:
\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Application Data\Teleca\Backup Manager\Backup Archive\3.0\
And even after the un-install, the backup files will be recognized. So u are safe. As I said, I did this procedure, and then I was able to connect and restore from backup.
