OK everyone, I'm going crazy with this bluetooth thing. NOTHING that I do works! I've been searching this forum for the last few days now and no solution seems available. Please Help!!

SETUP: T68i from AT&T, Windows ME (also tried in XP Pro) EPoX BT USB Dongle (model: BT-DG02) newest BT drivers from EPoX's website (1.2.2.6 I believe) Package 4 of the SE Software

PROBLEM: The serial port will connect for about 15 seconds, then drop connection for about 45 seconds, then connect for 15 seconds, and so on... MPM does NOT see the phone, and no matter how I set up the ports, nothing works. Phone Setup won't detect the phone either. All I want to do is transfer pics/ringtones/contacts and XTND Connect won't even work.

WHAT I'VE TRIED: I have tried numerous times in uninstalling ALL bluetooth software and reinstalling it. I have tried every COM port possible in the BT config, I have changed every and any possible settings in the MPM control panel.

THE FRUSTERATING PART: IT WORKED ONCE! for about 1 minute, I was taken through a "phone connection wizzard" which seemed to set up everything. I was able to send ONE picture to the phone through SE MyPictures. From there, I exited the program and proceeded back to Phone setup, where it has not worked since. As I sit here and watch, the serial port is still connecting, and disconnecting. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG????????? Please help!!

UPDATE: I changed drivers from the Widcomm drivers, to the Tecom drivers. I can now send pics from the phone to the PC, but not the other way around. In one sense, it's neat to see that at least SOMETHING is happening, now why won't MPM detect the phone? Is it something to do w/ linking/unlinking the device? I'm stuck.

Thanks

The easiest way to send stuff to your phone from your PC is using the inbox drag drop. In My Bluetooth Places, open up bluetooth neighbourhood, then your phone, then double click on the Inbox. Now try dragging and dropping something from explorer.

Also, try the PC control software from http://www.christersson.org/

You might also want to have a go using Floats Mobile Agent. Look in software forum. I have all the SonyEricsson stuff working, but its pretty buggy, and nothing all that useful.

@dennisb
you don't even have to pair the phones just to send pictures. make sure that the intended recipient has set the discovery mode to on (press option key, then select receive item). then the sender selects an image to be sent by bluetooth. the phone looks for discoverable devices in the area, select your friends phone and then just send it. your friend then confirms that s/he wants to receive the file you just sent.

After couple of weeks of using the T68i and a BT adapter, I have noticed a general rule of pairing/discovering.

To send file (picture, themes, or sound) from phone to other device(PC, phone, palm), you don't need to pair them, just make sure the receiving device has BT enabled in discoverable mode, and then just send from the phone, and the receiving device should then ask YES/NO question to receive it, it's more like a broadcasting mechanism.

To send file from PC to phone or do continuos thing(PC control), you have to pair them, because we are using vitrual serial port here, so a communication channel has to be made before the file can be sent through.

Just my little bit of ovservation and thoughts.

Hours of fiddling.

Familiarity with the 'programmers logic'.

Bit of reasearch.

Bit of luck.

For sending files from phone to pc, read here
