Getting a N95 tomorrow (very excited!) and would like to compile a small list of essential themes, software and games for this phone so that once I get it, I can download the stuff straight away. Thanks!

when you download themes, download those that use the built-in/default icons. The reason is simple. The default icons is animated.

no it is not. But it is pretty good. UI looks nicer than Agile Messenger.
I personally prefer IMplus.

Good software:

- AquaCalendar
(I like papyrus more than aquacalendar on s60v2, but on N95 Aquacalendar seems much more functional)
- Handy Taskman
- Handy Clock
- Calcium (easy to use calculator)
- Best Jotter - secured notes
- IMPlus, Agile, Live Messenger or Fring (im)
- DivX player
-MobiReader (the best ebook viewer)
-MSDict
-FExplorer or X-plore (file manager)

Hi all,

OK these are the apps i have on my N93 and can recommend the first one i agree with Voda-Jon with as it is just so easy to use and helpful.

1) Handy Taskman simply the best Task Manager IMHO.

2) Handy Clock or Alarm multiple alarms that you can add your own sound to Handy Clock has some other features if you need them.

3) Fring VOIP and IM for Skype, Google and MSN also SIP support not yet supported on the N95 but the Fring people are working on it so should be available very soon.

4) Nokia Podcasting app for both Video and just sound Podcasts

5) Themes can be found @http://symbian.mobilethemes.com/ although if you like a Black Theme IMO the best is from someone on My-Symbian and is called the Pearl Black Theme or Pearl Black fire if i remember correctly it is made by Dragon TMD and many thanks to him for it.

6) NSysInfo shows free Ram and lots of other bits of info and is free.

7)Nokia Search which in the version i have only searches the phone as the new version now incorporates a web search also. This is excellent as you can define the search of your device and where to search.

That plus Tom Tom 6 and now the Wireless Keyboard app are all that i feel i need.

Marc

Thanks everyone for their imput...great selection there! About the themes, so if I install any themes that are meant say for the N73, the animated icons will not work?

Only if those themes use their own set of icons. (Rule of thumb: Any theme that has file size >800K most probably include own customise icon set)
