Guys please:

Can anyone (again) post the way for Bluetooth surfing on the P990 via a BT dongle??

I made another thread and there wasn't a strong follow-up, only a guide (which I did what it said EXACTLY), and didn't work.

I believe some people too did what it said, with no luck.

NOTE: P990i, NOT M600i.

Bottom line: THAT GUIDE DIDN'T WORK. Period.

I use Bluesoliel btw.

I was able to connect my M600 using that guide. At first it did not work for me but as I changed my antivirus to norton, it worked. I used mcafee internet which included also a firewall. There might have a problem with the Mcafee firewall, so when i deleted the mcafee and changed to norton it worked. Im using a BT dongle that has a widcomm software. The instruction is based on the widcomm/broadcomm bluetooth. I tried a Toshiba BT dongle but it did not work.

Hope this helps.

Control Panel>connections>internet accounts>new Account (from the drop down menu)> bluetooth internet (pan)> Account name (whatever you like!)>devices (select your PC from the list)> Save!

Thats the P990i set up!

Assuming you have already paired the phone with the PC, you will now need to access the settings on your bluetooth connection via the pc to enable group adhoc service, i use a belkin dongle with belkin software so cannot comment on how to set yours up!

Also you will need to allow your network to share its internet connection
Windows XP >Start>my Network places>network connections>right click on your connection>Properties>advanced>internet connection sharing>tick the box to allow sharing!!

I am no whizz when it comes to computers and the above is just a rough guide as to how i set my connection up, so i hope it helps, but don't shout at me if it don't as i will be very offended!

Aside from creating the PAN. You also have to configure its TCP/IP and DNS. Edit the PAN you created. Click More>TCPIP> IP Config>follow intstruction. Same as the IP DNS Address, the Save.
